Claudio Poleschi Arte Contemporanea presents Jongsuk Yoon first solo show in Italy.

Born in Korea, she lives in Europe since many years. She attendend in Germany the Kunstakademie in Münster, and the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf.

Jongsuk Yoon lives and works in Düsseldorf.

She received important grants, as the DAAD in Berlin (2000).

In 2004/05 she attended a master course at the Chelsea College of Art & Design in London.

She took part to many solo and group shows both in Europe and in Asia.

At the beginning of her career, Jongsuk Yoon made a painting characterized by figurative and abstract elements, using coloured threads instead of pigments.

From 2005 she has been changing her style in paintings: her works deal more with figurative themes, but it also contains elements of Asian painting, i.e. for the use of the line as 'intimate expression of the shape', as she claimed in a recent interview.

In Lucca Jongsuk Yoon will show a selection of new works, in which a dreamlike vision of reality is the main feature. Her characters (young ladies above all) are like suspended in an other dimension.

Jongsuk Yoon's inspiration for her work derives from the different impressions and desires that come from everyday life. Many critics think Yoon's painting can be considered close to the current European neo-romantinc movement.
